If I’ll Be A Glass Of Water

If I’ll be a glass of water,
Would you drink me?

Would you take a chance to quench your thirst,
In Love’s desert?

Would you consume that life giving drink,
And allow me to flow through your veins,
To nourish you,
To become a part of you,
To explore the very depths of your soul and cleanse the pains and aches that burden you deeply .

Would you allow me to bring moisture to your parched lips that crave to be kissed?
To bathe your heart in a love that’s pure,
Not tainted with ulterior motives –
Just a clear gift with no additives.

If I’ll be a glass of water,
Would you drink me?

Would you allow me to dance across your tongue to bring life to it,
And teach it how to speak the language of my love?

Would you allow me to trickle down your throat,
And give you the urge to speak words you are too afraid to say?

Would you allow me to cool
your temperature –
Hot from the yearning in Love’s desert?

My love,
If I’ll be a glass of water,
Would you drink me?

  1. The way, you personified the glass of water is simply awesome… The metaphor not only creates beautiful imagery but gives a deep meaning to this fabulously created poem…
Keep the spirit of writing high…

  2. Hello, and thank you for liking my most recent post. I have a suggestion for this post. For your poem title, instead of “If I Will Be a Glass of Water,” try “If I Were a Glass of Water.” This would keep the tense consistent with the rest of the poem. I hope I’ve been helpful. Happy writing.
